Foundation Doctor's Guide to Trent
Trent Foundation School is located in the East Midlands and covers the areas of Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and the majority of Lincolnshire. All of the placements are 2-year linked programmes, giving you the stability of knowing where you will be living and working for the two years. The programmes are organised geographically so that you’ll be based either in the east or west of the deanery for the duration of your training, which ensures that your commute will never be too long and provides the benefit of not needing to move home. Most programmes include one year in a larger city-based teaching hospital, and the other year in a smaller DGH, which provides a varied clinical experience.
Being situated in the middle of the country means that Trent is in easy reach of all major UK cities. The university cities of Nottingham, Derby and Lincoln have a good mix of night-life and culture, and for those who love the outdoors, the Peak District, Sherwood Forest and the Lincolnshire coastline are all nearby.
